It sure looks like Christmas! There’s one last weekend to sell wreaths. Let’s finish strong.

Wreath sales money will be collected Monday, October 26, from 6:00 - 8:00. We will be set up in our garage this year.

Where: Kenison’s Garage - 772 Ashley Dr.
When: Monday, October 26, 2020
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Wreath money collection is a simple 3 step process.

1. Enter your order using this link; (you may need to cut and paste into your browser).

Please make sure to get to the end and click...... SUBMIT

2020 Registration

Annual registration, including paying the registration fee, is being done entirely online so I am including the registration link below.

Sept. 2020

Posted on Sep 12 2020 - 9:59am

Hi, everyone! Well, it is official, we are back to school! Regardless of how it goes, what age your kids are, or which school they go to, it is WIERD!

The part that we can do to give our families a little bit of "normal" is to get back to SCOUTS!

Monday, Sept 14th will be our first pack meeting of the new year! We will be outside, and spaced out, and in masks, but we WILL be in person! Woo hoo! Even without direct contact, it will be GREAT to see you all again! And you all get to take home your rocket kit, to assemble for our launch day on Sept 26th! We will NOT have pizza, due to the difficulty with making that happen without contact between people, so please come after you grab a bite to eat.

We will be getting together in the Mt Olivet parking lot, with plenty of space for all family units to be spaced from other family units, and we will work on creating an oversized version of a pack meeting. If you are not comfortable attending this event, that is completely up to each individual family. I cannot guarantee perfection in this event, as it will be our first attempt at making something happen in person, but we want to make our best effort to make time to recognize the efforts of our scouts, and get them the awards that they have earned since this pandemic hit us this spring.

The next upcoming events will be:

Next Pack Meeting: Sept 21st, 6:45, Mt Olivet parking lot
Rocket Launch: Sept 26th, Victoria Elementary fields
Pack Meeting: Oct 5th
Bicycle Adventure Ride: Oct 10th
Pack Meeting: Oct 19th

April 3 Updates

Posted on Apr 3 2020 - 12:46pm

Pack 589-
We miss seeing you all in-person and hope that you are doing well and finding ways to live out the scout law. Even though we cannot have den or pack meetings right now your leaders are talking about ways to keep our pack active, at a distance.

The first things we have been discussing are: summer camp, and a few district opportunities.

Council has promised that it is safe to register for summer camps. Best case scenario we can all travel and gather again and all will go as normal. If they do need to shut down camps or even certain weeks of camp, full refunds will be issued. So watch for more camp details coming soon as we work on pre-registration.

Save the dates:
Cub Camp- Scouts entering k-3rd grades- Phillipo Scout Reservation June 26-28
Webelo Outpost- scouts entering 4th grade spend an extra night- Phillipo Scout Reservation June 26-29
AOL Camp- Scouts entering 5th grade- Tomahawk July 8-11

If you don’t follow Lake Minnetonka District/ District M on Facebook or through our district website and emails you may want to check them out. Nationally our district website has been recognized for its innovations and available materials and has been followed by many other districts for quite some time. Another idea is to check out the online presence of your favorite camps. They are making use of social media in creative ways. I know Many Point has been hosting online alumni campfires and trivia contests on their facebook page.

District Website: http://www.lakeminnetonkadistrict.org/

Event happening this weekend already:
Northern Star Scouting Camp Night In, Friday, April 3 in the evening – set up a tent, fort, or just roll a sleeping bag out in your home or yard with your family (not with other families). Share your “campsite” with us on Facebook. We will be sharing some activities for families to do and touring a campsite with FB Live. Links should be posted to the pack facebook page.

We'd love to take the opportunity to update the pack website and facebook page, if you have any pictures from a scouting event this Spring that you'd like to see posted on facebook or stories to share on the pack website send them to me (Shannon Soerens) and I'll try to get them on there!
